Once again, thank you for trying to keep up with these changes! I personally (do not care) about social media anymore, I am fully converted to email-only now if you believe it.

From my October newsletters, I already mentioned that I was working on a comic project temporarily called "Mushikou/虫の子" at the time. After a bunch of revisions and annoying my social media guy about the naming, "Insect Course" will be the official name for this comic!

Right now I have already moved onto the inking stage of this comic, which should cost me around... 3 months to finish. Okay, so my little comic secret is that I've made two versions of the storyboard so (1) Short version in case I couldn't make it to the deadline (2) Longer, original version where I don't leave anything out aka The Director's Cut. I will be fine! I will be fine. It's comic business baby.

"Insect Course" will be part of my Goretober comic anthology which consists of different comic stories of different people and world-building. We will announce more on that later when there's a concrete plan for the anthology! For now I'm just looking forward to get one original Goretober comic out of the way.
"Insect Course" story can be standalone and it's simply about: One guy who committed home invasion crime and then his body oozed out insects. I hope it will be a fun read if you ever pick it up later! I've had so much fun coming up with the story-beats, and then the editing/revision to make the arts&writings so I could scratch that little sicko living rent-free inside my head. I also cant wait to retire from drawing miserable twinks, then move onto my sapphic Goretober characters........... Oh, right, yeah, it will be exhibited in Shortbox Comic Fair 2025. I appreciate the opportunity to showcase my works side by side with so many talented cartoonists!

I've had this idea of having the cast from 'Mobile Suits Gundam: Witch from Mercury' to have a timeskip and see how their careers and ~fashion~ have changed. Although most importantly I just wanted to see older Nika with long hair and a labcoat, yes, women in labcoat, yes. Next.

So this year, 2025, is the tenth year anniversary of Touken Ranbu / 刀剣乱舞ONLINE. I have to tell you I am not a gatcha fan, if at all, however I did play TKRB back when it first launched on dmm.com and I still have my original swords lineup from back then... waiting for me... for 10 years to return and collect more swords. This is a fan art of Ningen Mukotsu / 人間無骨, you can view his official profile here. He's illustrated by one of my all-time-favorite artist "AKIRA" and I was just so surprised to see their new work in Touken Ranbu again (♥︎︎ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)⁾⁾⁾ In-game, Ningen is very polite when people speak to him but during battle he goes full bloodlust in which he makes really cute gremlin noises. If I weren't so busy with comics this year I'd like to properly draw 10th anniversary fan art and just more Ningen (fan nickname: Popunchu) for me ♥︎︎♥︎︎♥︎︎♥︎︎

🐍happy new year🐍 back to the tradition of redrawing a zodiac design from 12 years ago. Published date: January 29th, 2025. (On 1st day of Lunar Year 2025!)
I can't believe we already moved onto the 3rd revamp design of my original zodiac characters. I will properly show them off someday (all 12 of them!), I always find it's interesting to see how my taste may or may not have changed from each year and then compare them altogether when New Year arrives. By the way, tell me your zodiac, were you born in the year of Snake?

​Long story short: I've spent an entire 2024 secretly building (very self-indulged) stories for my original MMO characters, and then by December or something I got into massive art burnout in which my good friend suggested me to take a break and play something like, Baldur's Gate 3. And then I got totally clocked in with my OCs roleplaying and then this comic happened. In any case, yes I've made another fancomic with little context and (it's not in English, I'm sorry.). You don't have to know the game, nor the character to read! Just, look at pretty pictures! Yay! Have you noticed how I've improved with graytone so much now?

What's up? Any media recommendations?

I promise you I'm not at all busy, I'm just good at looking for things to occupy myself. By the way, in the future I want to use my newsletters to just recommend you music/books/shows and various media I've been into. I must admit, I've played much less games in compared to my 20s. Right, I don't think I ever mentioned that Steam is banned in Vietnam by May 2024. Reddit is also firewall blocked by January or so this year, now I can't look up stuffs on my phone by putting "reddit" in my google search.

Now, now, don't be alarmed. I'm used to this, ask any of your native Viet friends, they're used to this. This is why we keep each other busy.

These days I've been into listening to TTRPG sessions from D20, I actually bought a subscription to their Dropout channel after watching the first episode of Dungeons and Drag Queens.

I think it's a great introduction to normies like me who are new to D&D and Oh boy I was like Jujubee when my friend invited me to play Pathfinder years ago. Especially if you're a gay art nerd that Can't math and roleplay at the same time.

Do you like music recommendation? I've been binge-listening to this album: 男と女 -TWO HEARTS TWO VOICE- by 稲垣潤一 (Junichi Inagaki). My top favorite in the album is あの日にかえりたい (I want to return to that day).

I can't help but singalong whenever this album plays, and I may have referenced the lyrics in my comics ( ᐢ˙꒳​˙ᐢ ) It sounds very corny when translated into English though... I hope you can enjoy the song as is!

Let's see, I've been catching up with other original self-published manga from time to time, I've read this GL comic called 『ベラドンナの恋人』(Belladonna's Lover) by るぅ１ｍｍさん.

You can read it for free on Bsky or read it full on shogakukan. Speaking of, I do like the manga reader on Japanese sites like shogakukan, comic-actions, etc, full spread page and you have to actively click/press button to turn your page. I want to collect physical manga again!
