Has 2024 been treating you well? It's been a turbulent year globally... although I've been staying in my hermit cage, completely in blissful ignorance, more onto that later! Let's start with some exciting good news:

Originally a love letter to Utada Hikaru 「Sakura Nagashi」 EVA-Q Ver. (Music Video). You're promised of piano lesson, stargazing and debilitating existential dread. (Full colored, 22 pages).

Alternatively, you can also read the comic (for free!) on Fanbox, Ko-fi, Twitter and Tumblr. Even if you're not an Evangelion fan, I'd be happy if you take a look at it! I had made my first draft of this comic back in 2016, then slowly and occasionally worked on the comic bit by bit whenever I had some free time, I'm SO glad it's over and now I don't have to think about EVA ever again (lie).

Okay that was the good news, I finished a comic! Another Kind-of good news is that I'm also distributing physical copies of this comic, but it's for domestic only. Precisely, the comic will be on sale during October's Color Fiesta, Vietnam. If my financial situation improves somehow in 2025, I will do my best to table around Asia more, I'm sorry I can never make it to big conventions overseas... I don't know if my passport can allow me to take one step into the US immigration office (;´･ω･) I can barely afford to travel abroad, so this is the most I can do. Same goes with international shipping, it's very expensive, I'm sorry!

IF you happen to be the one percent of my followers who's in HCMC, Vietnam though... I hope you can come visit my table in October (≧▽≦)/ Spoilers alert I'm cosplaying as Cám Chăm Chỉ this year hehe.

Hi! When I first received a notice about the Re-release of this book from Nico I was like "HELL YEAH!!" I got super excited and contributed a new page + recipe for the new version! My previous illustrated recipe is "Giant Parasite Grilled Plain & Kabayaki style", what a mouthful of a name right. For the digital zine I have come up with my new, original recipe, which is called "Dryad Ration Pills" (alt. name: ドライアドの兵糧丸 / Dryad Hyourougan). So many Japanese-inspired dishes...

I promise I'm not trying to make a brand out of warm, orange color scheme as my signature, my previous illustration was also orange by coincidence. It's just that my art remains stagnant after seven years, heh? Heheh.

Fan art of Lkyt., an adult visual novel game. I first bought the original Japanese version back in 2020 but only found some free time to play it at the beginning of this year. I have been a long-time Parade's fan, and I'm glad this game has exceeded my expectations~! I have more fan art ideas I really, really, really want to draw... unfortunately those ideas will be in backlog for a long time again.

I got more time around Lunar New Year to play MORE video games, and getting back to my touhou brainrot which is Hecatia Lapislazuli, my beloved. The truth is that I cannot play Project Touhou: Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom at all, or at least I can only brace myself for a 40-60 minute gaming session of it. My terrible aura migraines prevents me from playing video games with constant flashing lights (つ﹏<。) I still indulge myself with gameplay videos on youtube from time to time though, I am so enamored with Hecatia♡
I finished a fanbox compilation of touhou fan arts. I think a lot of these WIPs were dated back to 2022, and I had been slowly working on them whenever I'm free.

The external link to the comic is quite suggestive, so please be mindful of your surroundings before opening it! The text in this comic is in Japanese, I can summarize their conversation to "I'm glad I've found you", "I'm happy to see you too". That's it. Originally I had a more elaborated idea I wanted to draw for these two, but after debating myself I've limited it to a condensed two pages comic. I'm satisfied! I am a meat cage and not a drawing machine, I could've drawn all the yuri I want in this world, if only!

That was quite a jump from February to June, no? I've been keeping myself busy after all. What do you think about these works so far? They're still, ALL fanworks, so I can imagine a few of you can feel isolated for not knowing/engaging with the original media. I'm still primarily a fan artist and my sole mission is to brainwash you into liking the things I already liked, Eheheheh!

What's up? and What's coming up next?

Health update first, I suppose! My shoulder has gotten better, it's not fully recovered but as long as I can pace myself, do daily stretches often, it's in recovery! I can draw as long as I can keep it minimum per day and not overworking myself again. To be honest though I just walk around with a neck pillow and it's becoming part of me now, does anyone do this too? Desk job can be so dangerous isn't it? Please don't be a workaholic, art-addicted so you can remember to take breaks!

Behind the scenes, there are undergoing original projects that I've been working on recently:

• Liar Service (working title), language: English, medium: comic.
  This is a yuri romance comedy between an unhinged office worker and a... clown? It's very clowncore although I've never consumed media with clowncore, I am appropriating clown culture. As for progress, I've got the storyboard of first chapter done, there are some visdev I need to get over with although I'm happy with the current development right now! There's nothing to show off at the time except for recent storyboard work-in-progress.

• PAMELA, language: ENG or JPN depends on engine limitation, medium: visual novel.
  The name based on the flower thingy, probably a long-term project. It's a story about magical boys, with boring dating sim format in which I had to learn yu-ris engine for. YU-RIS engine is super fun though, I really want to play around with its existing features. Visual development is still in progress and I'm not comfortable to disclose about the characters + story on my public pages yet. I'm more worried about the amount of writings I will have to commit though.
• Mushikou (full name 虫の子, but might rename it), language: ENG and/or JPN. medium: comic.
  This is a character from goretober 2018, in the prompt "Insects". The synopsis for now:
  "Main character who works as a florist of a dying department store, it's like watching his dream job in a slow death. He's also, kind of insane (may or may not be affected by the stage of his workplace).​He has a secret, every now and then when he leaves early from work to pay a special "visit" to a house which is never his."
  More visdev should be done after this week or so, you can have a sneak peak for now!
